The Palomar StarLux Intense Pulse Light (IPL)
machine IPL is used for photofacials (the clearance
of sunspots and visible veins on the face and
other areas, resulting in improved skin tone and
texture), permanent hair removal and pigmented
skin lesions (including sunspots and melasma).
Palomar systems deliver pulsed light over one
smooth pulse duration, rather than the multiple
power spikes (which may damage skin) that other
technologies use. This patented smooth pulse technology
keeps the epidermal temperature lower, for far
more comfortable treatments. It also allows for
the safe delivery of greater amounts of energy,
which is more effectively absorbed by pigment
and blood, producing greater efficacy.
The Palomar Starlux IPL system can achieve the
following results:
* Sun damage/sun spots -- The sunspots will
darken after treatment and be naturally shed from
the skin within 1 - 2 weeks.
* Rosacea -- Skin tone will be more normal,
with less pronounced redness within one week after
treatment.
* Spider veins -- Vessels may disappear after
treatment or they may appear darker and then fully
or partially fade within 10-14 days.
* Angiomas -- Spots may disappear after treatment
or they may appear darker and then fully or partially
fade within 10-14 days.
