What Causes Acne
There are many myths about what causes Acne flare
ups, but no one single cause is to blame. Acne
is influenced by several factors, many of which
are out of your control. Stress, bad cosmetics,
hormones and birth control pills are common contributors
to acne breakouts. Many individuals are under
the misconception that eating certain foods can
cause or worsen their acne condition. Rather,
general diets high in fat oils, and sugars often
lead to skin conditions like acne.
Adult Acne
Acne affects a number of people including teenagers
and adults up to 40 years of age. The American
Academy of Dermatology reports 80 percent of adults
between the ages of 20 and 30 suffer from mild
to moderate acne. Over half of all women, regardless
of age, suffer from some form of acne.
Adult onset acne most commonly affects women as
hormonal changes often occur during ovulation
and menstruation, pregnancy, perimenopause, and
menopause. 60-70% of women who battle with acne
experience premenstrual flare-ups.

the face, back, neck & chest

to help bring the acne under control. Acne cannot
be cured, but it can be controlled in most cases.
Each Clear Concept Package is a six-month treatment

as outlined below. Treatments include, but are
not limited to, laser treatments to reduce oil
production in the hair follicle, LED light therapy
to kill p. acne bacteria and reduce inflammation

The Smoothbeam® Laser is used for acne
scarring and treating active acne. The process
safely targets and heats collagen in the upper
dermis, stimulating new collagen formation. Smoothbeam
can improve the appearance of atrophic acne scars
by reducing their depth and softening the edges
of the scar. The treatment also reduces the size
of the oil-producing glands, resulting in a decrease
in acne breakouts.
